For the past eight years, George W. Bush has become the butt of every political joke. From Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 to Comedy Central's satirical cartoon, Lil' Bush - the man cannot seem to escape the jaws of televised mockery. By the looks of this upcoming movie poster, the mockery is about to get a whole lot worse.
At the beginning of the year, Oliver Stone announced that he would be making a movie about the life of George W. Bush. Stone, controversially famous for his earlier movies World Trade Center and Platoon, said that W. offers a "fair and true" portrayal of the man we have all come to joke about. But judging by his movie poster (a collection of silly Bush-isms), Stone is sending the public mixed messages.
The trailer starts off with shots of Bush (played by Josh Brolin) drinking, gambling and partying and then cuts to his years in office and poses the question - What drove George W. Bush from here (boozing and partying) to here (years in office)?
Stone began this project with feelings of defeat and rejection as most studios refused to work with him because of the sensitivity of the issue. Despite all the rejection however, Stone was hellbent on getting this movie made. In just a few short months, he completed the movie and it is said to premiere in October, both in the US and Bush's least favorite country, France.
