Get All The Dirt On Your Classmates With iSearch

Before you agree to that date or pick a partner for that project, you may want to do a little research. I use the term “research” loosely, though… what I really mean can be found right in Wired’s headline: “Stalk your peers.”

Now, stalking finding out important info on family, friends and even strangers has gotten a little easier thanks to iSearch.com. The new web site from Washington State-based Intelius was on display at the DEMOfall2008 convention.

So how does it work? Wired explains:

Intelius demonstrated its next-generation people search directory, iSearch.com, at the DEMOfall 2008 convention. By simply entering a person's name in iSearch's search field, you'll be able to find all sorts of information related to the person -- from colleagues to relatives, employment history, schools attended and so on.

Hmmm, sounds familiar… Facebook anybody?

The main difference from our favorite social networking phenomenon is that instead of a person entering their personal information themselves, iSearch works by scanning the Web and collecting all the data on that person. It’s basically Google, White Pages and legit stalking all rolled into one convenient package.

Thanks, but no thanks. Students should probably just stick to Facebooking where there’s at least the promise of scandalous photos attached to the desired information.
