Greenies Attack: UVM Peace Activists Protest At Munitions Plant

Don't you just love the greenie-hippies from UVM?

Nine UVM students decided it was high time General Dynamics, a producer of munitions and defense systems, got a taste of their non-combative, pacifist, protesting powers. The nine students locked themselves together in the company's lobby chanting in a circle. The students bellowed phrases like: "Hey GD, what do you say, how many kids did you kill today?" Or creepy little metaphors (this one is my personal favorite), "This is the gas tank of the war machine, and we are the sugar."

The students etched these 3 demands on a piece of cardboard:

1. General Dynamics must stop contributing to political campaigns
2. General Dynamics should stop producing weapons of mass destruction
3. General Dynamics must give back the $3.6 million tax break received from Vermont in 2007.

The star character of the video, Rachel Ruggles (with a name reminiscent of Muppets past), was arrested at 8:45 pm with the rest of her protest buddies. The GD officials never spoke to the protesters... and I don't think anyone expected them to.

@ Anonymous: Why the hostility? War itself may be inevitable as you say, when it comes down to it, but does that make it all right? Unfortunately there's really nothing we the people can do, not unless it's as a whole, but if nine '****ing morons' from uvm want to speak out against it, results or not, who are you to denounce them?
