Guess What? Missouri Research Shows Hot Girls Make Men Body Conscious Too

In a rather unorthodox study, University of Missouri researchers set out to show that it’s not only women who feel bad about their bodies when they view superhot models in magazines, they affect men as well.

"We found that reading lad magazines was related to having body self-consciousness a year later," said Aubrey. "This was surprising because if you look at the cover of these magazines, they are mainly images of women. We wondered why magazines that were dominated by sexual images of women were having an effect of men's feelings about their own bodies."

Uh yeah, that is weird. The researches then collaborated with University of California – Davis to investigate further. The short, less-than-scientific answer is that when men see hot women, they reminded that they themselves have to be hot in order to get with them. This is kind of “science proving common sense,” but it’s still pretty interesting. I think I’m going to start subscribing to “Ugly Skanks Monthly,” so I feel really good about myself.
