Halloween: All That It's Cracked Up To Be?

Halloween: All That It's Cracked Up To Be?

Every year, students brainstorm the finest/sexiest/coolest/most original costumes for what is presumably the biggest holiday on a college campus: Halloween. With all its soaring expectations, this year has proved again why all the highly anticipated festivities are no more than a crowded room filled with angry witches, go-go dancers and boxers, all fighting for the attention of the bartender. My night consisted of waiting. Waiting on lines to get into a party, for a drink, for the bathroom, etc. All the while, my fishnets began developing unusual static, my mask slowly covered my mouth, and my arms reeked of a strange mix of alcohol from the inevitable spill. Don’t get me wrong, I am a sucker for Halloween as much as the next college student looking for another excuse to have a night of limitless fun, but I can’t help but feel like all the effort put into the perfect costume for the perfect night is a wasted effort.

My advice: Leave your expectations aside, but still be sure rock your costume anyway…you can never really be sure what the night may bring.
