Hannah Minx Takes YouTube (And Our Hearts) By Storm

Miss Hannah Minx, a 21-year-old YouTube phenom from Philadelphia, is making quite the name for herself on the Internet these days. But, who is she?

Well, for some, she's nothing more than a buxom beauty, someone to admire from afar--and post vulgar comments about on her videos. However, if you look past Hannah's ample exterior beauty, you'll actually find something more: informational, yet cutesy videoblogs about life in Japan and the Japanese culture as a whole.

Her now-popular videoblog, which pulls in millions of visitors in a month, started with a series of short clips entitled "JWOW" (Japanese Word of the Week). They were bit-sized vocabulary lessons that made learning everyday words, such as the one for "cellphone," in Japanese fun and accessible for us gaijins ("foreigners").

Today, her videos cover a much broader spectrum of Japanese pop culture, oftentimes tackling the hardhitting questions presented to Minxy by her otaku-lovin' viewership.

Ever wonder what's the difference between Asian and American emoticons? Miss Hannah Minx has you covered.
