Michael Jackson Cover Band Plays At Emory Homecoming Ball, Cue The Crotch Grabbing

This year, Homecoming Ball took place on Asbury Circle. Asbury Circle has become the center of campus recently, where the most students can be seen at any point during the day. In the past, the Homecoming Ball has been on the quad, however after getting complaints from girls about how their high heels were getting stuck in the grass, we decided to make a change.

A giant tent was erected over the old traffic circle, and a second tent was built to the side of the circle nearest the Emory hospital. Little known fact: Emory students will never see a stage facing the hospital because it is school rules that all concerts must face away from the hospital.

The Student Programming Council, the student body that puts on campus’ largest parties, hired both a Michael Jackson cover band as well as the top 20 DJ RJD2, to play at the ball. Around 10:30pm students began to pile into the traffic circle, crowding around the stage. The Michael Jackson band rocked the house. People were screaming at the top of their lungs and grabbing their crotches, Michael Jackson style. RJD2 was a big draw for the students that attended the ball, however I don’t think he was as good as the cover band. In any case, there were about 1000 students in attendance and everyone had a great time.
