Hopefully Biden Better At VP Than Law School

Hopefully Biden Better At VP Than Law School

OMG so the gr8 news has been texted and the word is out: Joe Biden is in as Obama’s veep.

But what do we know about this Biden?

Well for one thing, in the past he faced accusations of taking portions of his speeches from other politicians. So, keep an eye out for that at the Democratic National Convention this week.

We also know he graduated from Syracuse University Law School. He was probably valedictorian or something right? Hmm, well the Dallas Morning News blog Trail Blazers gives us the scoop:

Mr. Biden hardly had an auspicious career at SU. While there, he ran into plenty of trouble, including accusations of plagiarism.

In a New York Times article from 1987, one of Mr. Biden's former professors, Robert M. Anderson, recalled that his charge ''wasn't setting the law school on fire, but he was a competent student and a nice young man.''

Competent and a nice young man?

Yup, that seems sufficient to help lead our great and complex nation.

(Then again, that is more than could be said for a certain other leader of the country.)

Hey, Crystal, get a brain:
John McCain graduated 894 out of 899 at Annapolis. He was, thus, in the bottom 1% of his classmates. Four more years of a Bush-clone stupid-ass dufus is not what what America needs.

yep your right steve, we need the most liberal politician in the country running the show. I'm all for the socialistic ideas of Obama. Why should people be rewarded for hard work, sacrifice and creating something good for our nation? that's not what makes America so great. It's ridiculous, lets punish the productive members of this society. America is such a terrible place, I'm tired of hearing about people drowning when trying to swim to Cuba to get out of this terrible and evil USA. Steve....try common sense. name calling is always a strong argument. yippee!! Posted 08/27/2008 1:56 PMReply

By "productive members of this society" you mean those in the higher tax brackets right? You don't mean blue collar workers, or those who've never seen six figures each year.

Obama's plans reward the middle class for their sacrifice. His ideas for education and plans for energy self sufficiency and innovation are clearly good for our nation and most importantly, for our nations future.

McCain and Obama are both good people, and I genuinely like both candidates as individuals. However, with their contrasting outlooks on where this country needs to go, Obama's is the one I believe in.

Anonymous 8/27/2008,

Describing McCain as stupid is not name calling but a characterization supported by the facts. If more than 99% of your classmates graduate above you, it would be reasonable to assume that you are not very smart. Let's choose a person of superior intelligence to lead this country. Eight years of Bush demonstrates that electing an intellectually-deficient President because you would like to drink beer with him just does not cut it.

You are confused in equating socialism (a political theory advocating state ownership of all industry) with liberalism. Obama has not proposed or advocated for state ownership of industry. In fact, he wants to encourage ( with tax benefits ) industry to keep jobs in America and to develop technologies that will free us from dependence on foreign oil. That is hardly socialist.

The United States has from its earliest beginnings always had some socialism including our military, police, fire, public schools, and post offices. Social Security and Medicare have been added to this list. I would not want to live in a country that did not have these services provided by the government, just as I would not want to live in a country where the government owns everything. Civilized society needs a proper balance of private and public ownership.

What we need is the most intelligent, reasonable person running this country. Anyone who has ever been in charge of any organization knows that your personal agenda goes out the window when you take charge. Unless you are a doofus--see Pres. Bush for an example of that....
