Michael Phelps isn't the only Olympic name in American swimming. Hottie Ryan Lochte is a talented swimmer who's tired of coming in second place to Phelps.
The former Florida Gator is a multiple world record holder and specializes in the backstroke and the individual medley, for which he's already won a bronze in the 400m this summer.
Still, surrounded by all the intense competition, Lochte remains laid back, claiming he doesn't get too psyched up before meets. In fact, his sense of humor is well-known. At the 2007 World Championships in Melbourne, the swimming star wore a silver grill to accept his silver medal.
But don't let his easy going manner mislead you. Lochte is in it to win it, and the real showdown takes place on Friday when he will face his biggest competition -- teammate Phelps. While other swimmers may defer to Phelps' glory and go for second, Lochte thinks he has what it takes.
Can he take down the legend? If so, here's to hoping he has a gold grill sitting around somewhere.
