How to Use the New and Totally Awesome Photo-Tagging Feature

Since the redesign went live several weeks ago, the IT team here at OTR has been slaving away hard at work fine-tuning and tweaking all the new features and functions that were added to the site. Thanks to the feedback we’ve received from our readers, we’ve since overhauled the picture galleries, making them sleeker and easier to navigate.

Today, we are launching a new interactive feature for the galleries: photo tagging.

Here’s a quick, simple guide on how it all works:

1. Any picture IN the photo gallery of ANY post can be tagged. Sadly, the main picture of a post can’t be tagged right now, but we are looking into adding it at a later date.

2. To start, simply click the “Tag this Picture” button on the toolbar located right directly below the photo.

3. After you do that, a prompt will appear asking you select the area you want to tag. You can tag any spot on a picture by simply clicking on the spot, then dragging over the area to make a box.

4. After the area is chosen, a box will appear at the TOP of the picture where you can write a comment or tag someone’s name. Now, if you want to comment on someone’s funny shirt, you can do it right on the photograph itself, instead of doing it in the normal comment box.

That’s about it!

We hope everyone enjoys the new feature! Have fun, and if you find any problems, send us some feedback!
