Well, the day has finally arrived: the end of winter break and the start of the spring semester. Don’t bother paying attention in class today though, because to be perfectly frank, it really doesn’t matter.
Nothing you learn—or to be more accurate, sleep through—today will be of any consequence. What will be, however, is Barack Obama’s historic inauguration.
So, you have two options: skip the first lecture or watch the inauguration during it.
For those ballsy enough to attempt the latter, here are some suggestions:
With a laptop and some Wi-Fi, the options are nigh limitless:
1. CNN, C-Span and Hulu – The usual suspects will, of course, have plenty of live video coverage. If none of these are blocked at your school (and they shouldn’t be), these should be your first choice.
2. Obama Girl – Hot girl + Inauguration Day = The best of both worlds.
3. NPR’s Inauguration Report: A liveblog/feed of all the events as they go down.
4. Dipity: A Twitter-esque timeline of the Inauguration.
5. Every other news site in existence (Fox, CBS, NY Time, etc.).
For those with an iPhone but no laptop (do these people exist?!):
1. Ustream.tv – This is pretty much your only option, unless you go to Twitter/liveblog route. Highly recommended.
There you have it. Remember, while the coverage has already begun, Obama’s inauguration address isn’t until 11:30 a.m. EST.
