Cindy Michaels is the WVII television news anchor in Bangor, Maine – not a Sarah Palin clone. However, at a quick glance, it is easy to confuse the two women, as both sport a similar hair style and set of designer frames.

Thanks to their uncanny resemblance, many viewers in Maine are crying foul, accusing the 42-year-old anchor of intentionally playing Palin’s doppelganger in order to sway voters and help secure Maine’s measly four electoral votes for John McCain.

One peeved woman who called WVII remarked that Michaels was “the Kmart version of Sarah Palin,” which, considering Palin already embodies the Wal-Mart mother, is an especially vitriolic comment.
