Rachel Ray is a loudmouth Food Network chef, who recently held a cooking competition won by an Iowa State University Student. The winner, Madison Mayberry, was given a festive final challenge: creating a meal out of Thanksgiving leftovers in only 25 minutes.
An Iowa State University student has won a cooking competition on the Rachel Ray television show.
Madison Mayberry, a junior at ISU, competed for four weeks in the "Hey, Can you Cook?!" contest.
Her final challenge was to create a new dish from Thanksgiving dinner leftovers in just 25 minutes. Mayberry made potato turkey pancakes with squash mash and sweet pea gravy -- and to top it off a fruit dessert.
She gets a variety of prizes including her own original recipe published in Everyday Rachael Ray magazine, four days of cooking classes at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and a kitchen makeover.
Congratulations and happy Thanksgiving to Madison! We’re thankful for great cooks like her.
