The No. 2 ranked cornerback in the United States, Janzen Jackson, has dealt a blow to LSU recruiting roster for '09 by picking Tennessee as his school of choice for this upcoming football season.
Previously he had committed to LSU about a year ago, but then changed his mind and signed with Tennessee this morning:
"It was a very tough decision," Jackson said after choosing Tennessee at the Barbe coaches' office. "But Louisiana will always be my home."
Jackson also said the loss of LSU co-defensive coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto impacted his decision. Peveto, who recruited Jackson, was let go after the Tigers' disappointing 2008 season on defense and became the head coach at Northwestern State.
Will this cause LSU to lose their No. 1 recruiting class ranking? Probably not, but it's possible. I bet if Les Miles had a hot wife like Lane Kiffin does, maybe Jackson would have stayed. Everyone knows that all recruits put coach wife hotness above all other considerations when making a decision like this.
Will LSU lose their No. 1 spot?
