Kat DeLuna Booed During National Anthem, New Slang is Born

Every time you start feeling embarrassed about something you’ve done (you fell, you farted, you farted when you fell), just remember Kat DeLuna. Maybe you think of DeLuna as the lady that brought the 2007 summer anthem, “Whine Up,” but after watching this video of the Eagles/Cowboys game, you may think of her as the lady that almost broke the national anthem.

As her voice attempted to meander several octaves during any given word, Kat had the “I feel the music” face on. Evidently, the crowd had some feelings about the music too, as they began booing when she finally ended “The Star Spangled Banner.”

According to DListed:

Kat DeLuna "sang" the Star Spangled Banner at the start of Monday Night Football and it started out okay.... But then Kat suddenly thought she had the voice of Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston and that's when eardrums started to burst…

Keep that shit simple or you'll sound like a possum choking on a carrot while jumping on a trampoline. Or in Kat's case, a cat choking on a carrot.

Of course DeLuna did a much better job of the national anthem than I could do, but then again, I didn’t perform it on national television. So henceforth, when we refer to someone trying to go outside of their means or ability, we shall call it “pulling a Kat DeLuna.” Example: Tony Kornheiser apologized during the football game about “pulling a Kat DeLuna” insofar as his understanding of Spanish.
