I’ve always been of the opinion that diets are a kill joy that only morbidly obese people and Conde Nast fashion editors should partake in. I’ve also always thought that frozen prepared foods should be isolated to trailer trash intake only. So it comes as no surprise to me that there has been a Lean Cuisine recall.
According to NBC4i:
Nestle Prepared Foods recalled more than 879,000 pounds of frozen chicken meals that could contain foreign materials, NBC 4 reported.
The problem was discovered after the company received consumer complaints and a report of one injury. Nestle identified the foreign objects as small pieces of hard plastic.
This is a Class 1 Recall or one the USDA considers a high health risk.
Here are the products under the recall: Lean Cuisine Pesto Chicken with Bow Tie Pasta, Lean Cuisine Chicken Mediterranean and Lean Cuisine Chicken Tuscan.
I don’t know what the injury was sustained following consumption of the small pieces of hard plastic, but I do know that it makes my intestines throb just thinking about it. So the next time you’re perusing the frozen foods section, just take a note from Fat Joe and lean back.
