FIT Offers Lights, Camera, Fashion
All hail Maggie Gyllenhaal, Queen of Eclectic Glamour, in Proenza Schouler.Ashley Olsen was not the only one to stylishly reference the recent passing of Yves Saint Laurent, but she pulls it off with the most grace and ease wearing Calvin Klein Collection.Eugenia Gonzalez, in vintage Bill Blass, looks like designer Michael Bastian's live version of the night's gold trophy.Erin Wasson in Alexander Wang, with the designer. They both look adorable, and Wasson can do no wrong, even while only wearing one shoe.Hilary Rhoda in Proenza Schouler, a popular pick of the night by attendees, looks luminous in basic black, but with a superhero flair.Victoria Beckham and Marc Jacobs in one of his designs was creamed for her choice of dress, but I think she looks rather stunning. Only she can pull off this much frill.Kasia Struss in Rodarte, exuding the distraught ballerina chic that led to the comapny's win.Band of Outsiders Designer, Scott Sternberg, single-handedly brought back junior high style with his not quite long enough trouser and math club bowtie.Kim Cattrall, in Monique Lhullier, with Tom Ford, in his own design. This man exudes perfection and sex from every orifice.Francisco Costa and Eva Mendes in Calvin Klein Collection both demonstrate their singular ability to pull off simplicity and still stand out.

Award shows can seemingly drag on forever, but Monday night's CFDA Awards proved to be a speedy dose of fashion appreciation and inspiration, lasting a brief hour and a half (trust me, brevity is not typical in an industry known for its ability to discuss the subtle differences between a skimmer and a mary-jane.)

For the first time ever, and what seems to be a new tradition, Target and FIT paired up to broadcast the event like to over 700 FIT students, anxiously awaiting the announcement of the night's winners, nervously tapping their Tory Burch flats in the Haft's Auditorium of FIT.

Here is a list of the nights winners followed by some fierce photography of the emerging style swans.
