Meet Steve, an English-speaking Japanese man who decided to record himself playing Mario Land for the Nintendo Gameboy while intoxicated—much to everyone’s delight.
As we all know, an otherwise dull activity, like watching someone play a video game, suddenly becomes interesting when the person involved is under the influence of alcohol.
The reason for this is relatively simple: drunken people, as long as they’re not doing something illegal or engaging in flagrant jackassery, are funny. It’s great to listen to them wax philosophical about the wonders of the universe one minute, and then, see them trip over a rock the very next.
While the YouTube uploader claims he isn’t sure that Steve is inebriated, I think the evidence is stacked firmly in favor of such a supposition.
1. After successfully jumping onto goombas and hitting boxes for half a stage, Steve suddenly forgets that the ‘A’ button is for jumping. This results in him running into a pit repeatedly.
2. While English isn’t his first language, he slurs like a sailor and punctuates his actions with random sound effects and girlish shrieks.
3. He says ‘F*** you’ to coins… COINS!
So yes, he’s drunk, and yes, it is one of the most hilarious things you’ll see/hear all day.
