Lunch Break: Larry King's Interviews With Famous Comedians

Let’s face it: No one under the age of 35 watches Larry King Live! For whatever reason, today’s youth can’t connect with the old guy. Maybe, it's because old Larry is pushin’ 75, but rest assured, the old man is still as sharp as a knife when it comes his interviews with celebrities.

Over the years, Larry King has interviewed thousands of people, but the very best ones were always with famous comedians, including Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Bill Maher, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, John Stewart and Lewis Black.

Why? Well, Larry posits that comedians merely see life differently than the rest of us, which, to be quite frank, is absolutely true. I mean, the entire premise of the show Seinfeld, for example, was to take an everyday aspect of life, like dry cleaning or waiting for a seat at a Chinese restaurant, and making it the centerpiece of a 30-minute comedic plot. It worked too, because the observations Seinfeld and the show’s writers made about menial tasks like doing the laundry were always hilarious, which is a testament to their ability to think outside the proverbial box.

As Jerry Seinfeld once said during a stand-up comedy bit, “What’s the deal with dry cleaning? I mean, how does one clean with ‘dry’?!”

And so, enjoy the best of Larry King’s interviews with comedians. There are five parts in total, so be sure to watch them all.
