MTV’s Real World Heads to Brooklyn
This is news that will send low-key Brooklynites scrambling for their brownstones. Riding high on the successful of its new hour-long format, MTV has okayed the hit reality series for a 21st season in (shudder) Brooklyn, NY.

“The Brooklyn season, like the Hollywood season, will focus on what people loved about ‘The Real World’ when it launched in 1992 – genuine people, meaningful conflict and powerful stories,” co-creator Jon Murray said in a statement. “We're thrilled that MTV is allowing ‘The Real World’ turn 21!”

Continuing with the new format of one-hour episodes, the network has ordered 12 episodes of “The Real World: Brooklyn” which is scheduled to premiere in the first quarter of 2009.

“We’re thrilled to [take] the show back to where it all began – New York City,” EVP Tony Disanto echoed. “

Production starts this summer. No word yet which neighborhood the seven strangers will reside in.
