I’m not sure how I feel about MyDebates.org. It’s MySpace’s way of trying to get its users involved in the political process, which is commendable, but then again it’s MySpace, so I’m always skeptical of anything they do.
Fortunately the site is designed much better than MySpace, and its user interface is silky smooth. Yes, it’s one of the most stylish means of deducing who your candidate should be via a series of flashcards, but seriously, you’re going to pick your candidate via a series of flashcards?
Also it was a forum to discuss the debates as they were happening, but unfortunately now that they’re over, you can’t go into the archives. But I can imagine what the conversations from MySpace users must’ve been like.
Hottietottie423: OMGZ, obama is sooooo cute!!!
PrincessTiara11: ew mccain is like, smiling again
MatureGent1957: Hey ladies, a/s/l?
And another thing, any “neutral” forum on the internet is bound to turn into an Obama love-fest seeing that McCain’s supporters still think that computers are some sort of hot-sandwich making device. This is demonstrated in the “MyDebates Electoral Map” which has Obama leading heavily in FORTY SEVEN STATES. Actually, the numbers say he’s leading in Arkansas too, but may they just threw McCain that one out of pity. Also note that Mississipi is the only solidly red state. So that's where this mystical "base" is.
It’s an innovative concept no doubt, but if you’re still undecided at this point, you should probably be taking an IQ test rather than a litmus test.
