When compared with MySpace, Facebook is often heralded as a safe haven away from the dregs of society, i.e. the sexual predators, flagrant spammers and under-aged deviants who pose half-naked for the sake of attention-whoring on the Internet. Now, that’s not to say that Facebook is free from shady individuals, but there are definitely fewer of them.

That said, there are certainly those who exploit Facebook’s more “family friendly” reputation for their own gain. Case in point: Anthony R. Stancl, an 18-year-old high school student at the New Berlin Eisenhower High School in Wisconsin.

Apparently, Stancl posed as a hot girl—using stolen pictures from other Facebook users—and then sweet talked some of his male classmates into sending him lewd pictures, which he used to blackmail them into engaging in various sexual acts with him under the threat that the pictures would be publicly released if they refused.

The Journal Sentinel reports:

The sexual assaults occurred in the high school bathroom, the high school parking lot, the public library restroom, Valley View Park, Malone Park and at some of the victims' homes, authorities say.

At least seven boys were forced into performing sex acts. The 31 males range in age 13 to 19. The youngest sexual assault victim is 15.

The investigation into Stancl began after bomb threats on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 led to the closure of Eisenhower Middle and High School on Nov 14. The sexual assaults occurred throughout 2008.

I think we can all agree that this kid is royally screwed in the head. In the span of one year, he threatened to blow up a school and preyed on innocent kids.

Thank God, he’s eighteen years old, because now, he can be tried as an adult. Plus, it allowed the police to provide us with a picture of King Douchebag himself.
