Serial adventurer and millionaire Steve Fossett went missing after his plane flying over the Nevada desert mysteriously disappeared almost a year ago today, but now, new clues may have been found as to what exactly happened him.
A hiker in the Mammoth Lakes area found two FAA cards with Steve Fossett’s name on them, also nearby was a sweat jacket and a modest amount of money. This is the first time any information as to his whereabouts have been found, but it’s unclear whether the items were left by Fossett or if they were just scattered debris from a plane crash.
Fossett was declared legally dead by his wife back in February, but it’s not unheard of that he may still be alive, especially with new evidence like this uncovered. Fossett has always had an adventurous spirit, back in his days in Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at Stanford he swam to Alcatraz island and hoisted up a banner that said “Beat Cal” on the wall of the prison. What a badass.
Here’s hoping that you’re somewhere out there Steve.
