New Palin-Couric Interview, Now With McCain as Chaperone

After her absolutely disasterous performance in her interview with Katie Couric the other day, Sarah Palin went back on the show to try to redeem herself, but she wasn't alone. That's right, she brought her chaperone, McCain, with her to make sure she didn't say anything stupid.

Well it turns out they're both capable of saying stupid things while together. Couric pressed Palin about a recent contradiction she made against McCain when she said that the US should attack inside Pakistan when they know of threats there (something Obama said we should do). Sarah kind of looks at McCain and he blames "gotcha journalism" for the gaffe, and she jumps in, all too eager to start saying "gotcha" too.

Problem is, as Couric points out, the person asking the question was a voter, not a journalist. Oops.

Also, when asked about Palin's qualifications, McCain says, "I remember when Bill Clinton was running as Governor of a small state and he had no experience. And everyone thought he'd lose to Bush one!"

Uh, did McCain just admit that Palin has no experience?

Two days to the debate. I'm overcome with anticipation.

you are wrong and stupid to write this kind of rubish. Palin will win, no matter what you think. Posted 09/30/2008 10:56 AMReply

Are you high? Palin can't control her druggie kids, much less run a nation. She even believes man and dinosaurs co-existed 6,000 years ago. She is so disconnected it's funny. Kudos to SNL for jumping on that! They don't even have to act much to portray Palin as a complete bonehead. Palin is now taking "coaching" lessons to prepare her for the debate. There isn't enough training she can take to look even decent. She won't win, no matter what you think. Posted 09/30/2008 11:39 AMReply

Not only is it NOT wrong or stupid, but factual since it is right in your face how unexperience she is, as McCain said himself last Thursday to the audience at the debate, "NO ON THE JOB TRAINING"

Well, no on the job training - or bridge to "No Where"

It's scary that the emptiness of this woman was not noticed immediately. Why were people so taken in by a speech at the RNC in which she performed well using a teleprompter in a speech written by others? Are we such sheep that we don't look through to a person's substance before deciding that a person is just fantastic? I sometimes feel as though we have become a culture of Jerry Springer guests. Incredible. Posted 09/30/2008 2:39 PMReply

Obviously nobody has seen her in action.

Gonna be a lot of liberals eating their words.

Wow. You have got to be insane. This woman is uninformed, inexperienced, and a horrible pick for vice president. I think this will all be very apparent on Thursday night. She is now only popular with stupid Christian conservatives who really do believe that humans and dinosaurs existed together. If those people don't care about experience or judgement, then they can vote for her and the rest of us who are sane, intelligent, and educated will vote for Obama/Biden. All this name-calling. She's probably intelligent but everything she says indicates she is terribly inexperienced, at this point in time, for national and international politics. She, thus far, is like a fish out of water and/or a (pit)bull in a china shop. I would blame the hastiness of the decision to put her on the ticket and the poor coaching by her handlers. A lot of candidates have been coached or made the trip to 'debate camp' in preparation of the big debate so this detail is not surprising. Her lack of preparedness and paper thin knowledge of economic, national and international issues is, I would argue, squarely the fault of her handlers and the McCain Team. Having said that, let's hope the debate gives her and Biden the opportunity to truly discuss the urgent and pressing issues of our time rather than take a nosedive into the absurd. So it's okay for Palin to have no experience, but for Obama...totally not acceptable. Posted 09/30/2008 10:03 PMReply

You folks deserve what you get if Palin becomes VP. Look at the mess the US is in now following 2 terms of Bush Jr. (I still can't believe you re-elected him). Surely the majority of Americans are intelligent people and not a country full of hillbilly buffoon followers. Wake up ! Posted 10/01/2008 08:14 AMReply
