New Survey Says High School Students More Morally Bankrupt Than Ever

A large-scale survey has just been released that conclusively shows that the majority of high school students are lying, cheating and stealing to try to get to the top. One culprit is the increased pressure on students to get into top colleges and another is the internet. Here's a rundown of the results:

  • 30% say they’ve stolen from a store, 20% from a friend, 23% from a relative

  • 60% cheated on a test, 38% did twice or more

  • 36% used the internet to plagiarize

  • 42% said they lied to save money (what does that even mean?)

So are their consciences suffering from all their misdeeds? Unlikely seeing that 93% said they were satisfied with their personal ethics and 77% said “when it comes to doing what is right, I am better than most people I know." This is the whole theory of “writing this paper is worthless in the long run, so who cares if I cheat on it?”

So what to be done? I say nothing, you can’t cheat your way through life forever, right? Oh wait, yes you can.
