NYU Graduation: Four Hours of Comedy

NYU’s 176th graduation ceremony yesterday was an absolute sh*t show. Held at Yankee Stadium for the first – and last time – 6,000 graduates assembled into box seats for four hours of delightful entertainment.
First, NYU President John Sexton repeatedly mispronounced Michael Strahan's name while presenting him with the Lewis Rudin Exemplary Service Award. According to the NY Post, the crowd of 20,000 cringed in horror as he dubbed the Giants star stray-hawn instead of stray-han.
Then, wild cat graduate William Lopez darted onto the field, tore off his pants and attempted to sprint around the bases in a moment of joyous, legendary celebration.
Clad in boxers, beige socks, brown laceups and his purple gown, Lopez “tagged third, hung on to his cap and chugged down the baseline toward home - cheered on by many classmates.”
As several NYPD cops tackled him, Lopez scrambled and squirmed toward home plate.
"As I was on the ground and they were holding me, I was literally trying to crawl toward the plate," Lopez told the Daily News. "What I think is really funny about this is I got arrested for trespassing at my own graduation."
All students attending the ceremony will receive a free DVD of the commencement later this summer.
