Oregon State doesn’t care if you’re a delinquent as long as you can play football.
Luckily for Peter Lalich, he can play football quite well. The former University of Virginia quarterback was the first true freshman in Virginia history to play in the last decade. The school’s website describes Lalich as a “poised and accurate passer in the pocket.”
This was all well and good until Lalich admitted to smoking pot and drinking underage after being on probation… for drinking underage. This infraction led to his dismissal from the UVA football team a week ago.
Now Scout.com is reporting that Lalich will start classes at Oregon State on Monday. He certainly didn’t waste any time, now did he? Still, he can’t play on the team until next year, after finishing one academic year of residence at OSU.
Other teams in the running for Lalich’s presence were UCLA and Cincinnati. Clearly, none of these teams are too concerned about his little drinking problem. Maybe Virginia is just too uptight… what’s a little illegal alcohol consumption, when your passing is what’s important?
Yeah, with two court appearances under Lalich’s young belt and a probation that will last until next July, I’m sure this won’t come back to bite Oregon State in the ass.
