Yeah, Sarah Palin is getting ubiquitous. Yeah, we at CollegeOTR write about her a lot for someone we aren’t too pleased with. Yeah we are totally freaking obsessed. Yet how could we not, when she gives us such gems to laugh over? Take her recent blatant lie about meeting the British ambassador to the United States— which he called her out on.
Sarah Palin has committed yet another political blunder after claiming she had held talks with a British ambassador - talks that never actually took place.
In an answer to questions about her foreign policy experience ahead of tonight's make-or-break vice presidential TV debate, her aides listed numerous contacts with foreign officials - including Britain's ambassador to Washington, Sir Nigel Sheinwald.
However the meeting never occurred. Officials at the embassy swiftly contacted the McCain-Palin campaign to inform them of the discrepancy.
Hmm… smells like resume inflation. And lying. And what our dear President Bush might call “misunderestimating.”
When McCain first chose Sarah Palin as his running mate, we wondered if he was insulting the intelligence of Americans by choosing a rookie female governor to appropriate the Clinton vote. Then, we again wondered if McCain thought us stupid when he called the fundamentals of the American economy strong and covered for the blunder by defining the “fundamentals” as workers. Now, it seems a perfect confirmation of just how oblivious the McCain-Palin ticket believes Americans to be, as they blatantly lie about the VP hopeful’s political experience.
So perhaps it’s time to prove ourselves a country not so bogged down with sugar, television, US Weekly, and Xbox Live as to be scammed by an ex-beauty queen who believes that humans and dinosaurs co-existed 6,000 years ago. Seriously, please vote, guys.
