On Wednesday the NJ three children that became famous briefly for being named after Nazis, were taken away from their parents and put in custody of the state.
MSNBC reports:
Holland Township Police Sgt. John Harris said workers from the state Division of Youth and Family Services removed 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell and his younger sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, from their home Tuesday.
Harris said family services did not tell police the reason the children were removed. Agency spokeswoman Kate Bernyk said it does not comment on specific cases.
Though the reasons aren't altogether clear, FOX News claims that this can be considered child abuse:
"Part of it is the infantile nature of the parents’ behavior," [Forensice Psychologyst] Berrill said. "You can name your dog something weird, but they think they’re making some kind of bold statement with the children, not appreciating that the children will have separate lives and will be looked at in a negative light until they’re able to change their name. It is abuse."
Last year, a New Zealand court removed a 9-year-old girl from her parents in order to change her birth name: Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. In that country, officials do not deem a name abusive unless it causes serious bullying.
Um...yea, I think we can all agree that these none of these people should be raising children. Good job, New Jersey!
