People Who Make You Feel Physically Inadequate

People Who Make You Feel Physically Inadequate

Let's face it:  chances are if you are reading this, you are past your prime when it comes to athletics.  You probably committed four years of your life to a sport in high school, and you were rewarded in the form of being named honorable mention all-conference your senior year (you still can't get over that kid across town with only one arm who made all-state, can you?).

No need to worry:  whether your physical activity now comes in the form of sweating out gallons of Natty Light in the sauna, sprinting to your car to avoid getting ticketed in the 15 minute parking zone, or scooping a bowl of late night Moose Tracks, at least you're mature enough to have come to the realization that you aren't exactly wasting a gift from the big man upstairs.

That being said, it's always fun to watch individuals who have been blessed with an ideal genetic makeup and marvel at both their skill and your bad luck.  After reading this, one way to take out your frustration would be to engineer a time machine and convince your great grandfather to marry Babe Zaharias... or you could just polish off that carton of Moose Tracks in the freezer.

Jashaun Agosto

Do you remember what you were doing when you were 11?  If you were anything like me, you probably spent more time building up your Magic card collection than doing anything that was actually physically strenueous.  Sure, everybody played soccer, but let's be honest:  you only did it for the Capri Suns after the game.

Meet Jashaun Agosto:  at age 11, he already has Mike Conley type dribbling skills, can run a 4:50 mile (a world record for his age group), and has a VO2 max level that could eventually eclipse Lance Armstrong's.  He says his goal is to play in the NBA, but don't be surprised if he doesn't make a stop at the 2016 Olympics first.  By that time, you might have actually moved out of your parents house.

Joe Mauer

If you've ever taken an economics class in college, you learned two things:  speaking English isn't a prerequesite for teaching the material, and something happens when the demand exceeds the supply.  I'm not really sure what that is because I was too busy in class watching Youtube videos of animal fights on my laptop, but I know one thing:  I'm guessing Joe Mauer has experienced this phenomenon many times in his life with regards to his encounters with the opposite sex.  Just look at his Wikipedia page and try not cry as you realize that hand sanitizer and the giant bag of Cooler Ranch Doritos you just finished don't mix well.

He was named the high school player of the year in football by Gatorade, USA Today, and Parade, and was taken with the #1 pick in the 2001 draft by his hometown Minnesota Twins.  He has modeled for Perry Ellis in the offseason and turned down a full ride to play quarterback at Florida State, which is basically the equivalent of refusing to accept a "get-out-of ever having to actually try to hook up with a girl" card for four years of your life.  If all of that isn't enough, his sideburns alone are more popular than you will ever be.

Juris Shibayama

Also known as Dr. Bigtime, Juris Shibayama is a competitive eater, a fitness model/bodybuilder, an avid Harley rider, and, as if all that wasn't enough, a spine surgeon.  As far as how I imagine what his daily routine must be, I think this guy has us all beat:  wake up, eat as much food as possible, fix a few spines, go to the gym, and then eat some more before a quick ride down the block on the Harley.

While the rest of us can see the grease from the single patty hamburger we just ate forming in our lower abdomen minutes after eating it, this guy can eat whatever he wants and still look like he just finished a marathon.  If you are ever looking to have a really productive day consisting of a good workout, downing a dozen burgers, and then a quick spine surgery, I think you'd have to at least consider Dr. Bigtime.
