Play of the Day: Dwayne Wade Sinks Shot From Opposite Free-Throw Line

Over the weekend, Miami Heats star Dwayne Wade nailed a Hail Mary shot from 3/4 down the court, proving once and for all that he's either superhuman or, at the very least, demigod-like.

Sadly, the throw didn't count, because the referee had already blown the whistle, but that doesn't make it any less impressive, especially when you consider the fact that it didn't even touch the rim. That's right, the ball was thrown so well that it went perfectly into the hoop, a uncommon occurence that's not easily replicated.

I'm not sure what possessed Wade to even attempt the shot knowing it wouldn't count. Perhaps, he did it because, well, he knew that he could; he just wanted to prove it to everyone else. Yes, such a scenario would fit perfectly into my "Dwayne Wade is not of this Earth" theory. Therefore, it must be true.

Side Note: What's up with the NBA's music selection in this clip? It's a fairly ominous hip-hop beat that doesn't really gel with the on-screen action. Better question: Who told the NBA it would be a good idea to edit hip-hop tracks into their montages?
