Theme parties come in all different shapes and sizes, but the "40s and Thugs" theme, in particular, is fairly common within the Greek system for some inexplicable reason.

I'm not exactly sure what it is that compels fraternities and sororities to mimic the "thug" life of Compton and other seedy areas. Perhaps, they find the stylings of such environments comical, especially when compared with their own lifestyles. Regardless of the reason though, it always seems to offend the more sensitive types who hate stereotypes. But, it definitely doesn't offend us, because we find these sort of shindigs awesome, if only for the completely unintentional hilarity that comes along with them.
