"Discrimated" Ex-Dartmouth Prof Seeks Refuge at NU

"Discrimated" Ex-Dartmouth Prof Seeks Refuge at NU
After dropping the whole filing a lawsuit against her students for creating a "hostile" environment with their "anti-intellectualism," the former Dartmouth professor is now a research associate at NU.

Let me be the first to welcome you to our campus! And expect some warm greetings from the rest of us delivered right to your inbox (p-venkatesan@northwestern.edu).

We promise we won't make you cry. Or quit.
Maybe.

You are a moron if you think this case has anything to do with racism. I've been casually following it and it looks like she is a profoundly troubled person with low self-esteem.

Sounds like she was constantly mocking students for not being "established scholars" and needs to be seeing a therapist, not an attorney.

I'm confused about Postmodernism... does it mean "question everything" or does it mean "question everything except the lecturer" ? Posted 05/08/2008 06:13 AMReply

Of course...she is so stupid but she wants to use her "feminist' cards to punish all.

She's merely the corrupt product of a corrupt academic literary establishment. Another fool who thinks that Derrida, Foucault and Lyotard are philosophers. Posted 05/14/2008 08:37 AMReply

Just like Christianity and Marxism, post-modernism has devolved into the exact opposite of what its founders had envisioned. While they claim that there exists no legitimate authority, they are constantly telling others what thoughts, actions and words are and are not permissible. While they claim that there exists no such thing as truth, they also claim to be right about everything. While they claim that there is no such thing as IQ they claim to be smarter than everyone. While they claim that all opinions are equally valid, they call anyone who disagrees with them fascists. While they are constantly complaining about oppressive power structures they will rat you out to those same power structures at the first hint of 'subversiveness'. Posted 05/14/2008 7:50 PMReply

Boy, uppity Indian girls who can't imagine how technology has helped level the playing field for the poor masses she left behind are sure ignorant and self-loathing Posted 05/16/2008 09:32 AMReply

This post is DISTRUBING.
"We promise we won't make you cry. Or quit.
Maybe."
If this is representative of how college students act, then maybe what the professor alleges is probably true. If people can collectively harass someone that they don't know from a blog then maybe the students at Dartmouth in her class did collectively terrorize the professor.

Watch out Sensible People! Mob hysteria is on the rise!

In reference to this quote,
"Boy, uppity Indian girls who can't imagine how technology has helped level the playing field for the poor masses she left behind are sure ignorant and self-loathing"

What the crap? Are you one of her students? "How technology has helped level the playing field" You sure seem racist and incredibly insecure ("uppity Indian girls"). Maybe the professor did have a valid reason to sue or a least have some backlash against people with a mindset like yours.

It's called the marketplace of ideas. If she can't handle the pressure, maybe she should get out. Let the best one win! Posted 08/24/2008 01:58 AMReply
