After Pastor Rick Warren spoke at the Muslim Public Affairs Council in Long Beach, it became apparent that he is so full of shit, he probably needs an enema. Speaking before a crowd of 800 Muslims and Melissa Etheridge (who he was so very quick to point out), Warren declared, “I love Muslims…and for the media’s purpose, I happen to love gays.”

Okay, so then his support of Prop 8 is what then? The gay rights iteration of “It’s not you, it’s me”? I guess Warren “love[s] gays,” just not as much as he loves Prop 8. As evidence of his love of homosexuals, Warren told the crowd of how Melissa Etheridge had signed his Christmas CD. A lesbian signed his Christmas CD!? Well he must love The Gays then!

Perhaps Warren’s flagrant sound byte baiting and allusions to Melissa Etheridge signing his Christmas CD wouldn’t be as sickening if he hadn’t compared gay marriage to incest and pedophilia recently. But Warren’s transparent PR stunting, relegation of homosexual marriage to the scatological and logical missteps have only been detrimental to him and his associates. I understand that Warren's trying to seem like less of a bigot than everyone thinks he is, but you know what would really help that endeavor? Not supporting bigoted legislation like Prop 8.
