Sarah Palin Found Katie Couric Interview "Annoying," Tells Matt Lauer

Sarah Palin found some of Katie Couric’s interview questions annoying— and she’s not afraid to admit it to Matt Lauer. In the clip above she says, “Questions about, ‘Well what do you read up there in Alaska?” to me that was a little bit annoying because I was like, ‘What do you mean, ‘What do I read in Alaska?’ I read the same things that you guys read in New York and there in LA and in Washington State. What do you mean what do I read?” Well actually, I don’t think Sarah Palin does read the same things that I read. Otherwise, she might be able to think of a single Supreme Court decision with which she disagrees. But I’m sure she reads Vonnegut too.

This isn’t the first time Palin has taken shot at the media as though it were moose; right before Barack Obama was elected she told WMAL-AM, "It's sort of perplexing to me, because I'm a practical person and plainspoken also, but just cutting to the chase and calling things like I see them, just like most Americans. But this has not left a bitter taste in my mouth, the bitter shots taken by the mainstream media and by some of the elitism there in Washington.”

The night of the election, she also said, “There is a little bit of disappointment in my heart about the world of journalism today. I have such great respect for the role of the media in our democracy, it is a cornerstone, it allows the checks and balances. But only when there is fairness and objectivity in reporting.” Oh, and I was under the impression that the three branches of government were meant for checks and balances. She sure taught me a lesson!
