Slain Student Honored With Degree At UNC
Recently, our contributor Pokey T did a Year-In-Review post recapping the top stories from UNC this semester. Topping the list was Eve Carson's murder.

The loss of Ms. Carson was felt deeply by the entire UNC-Chapel Hill community, and this past weekend the university celebrated her memory by allowing her to officially graduate.

From the News 14 Carolina:

"A special degrees was given out Sunday at UNC-Chapel Hill's graduation ceremony.

Slain student body president Eve Carson was awarded posthumous with a bachelor of arts degree with a double major in biology and political science.
A page in the commencement program was also dedicated to Carson.

The 22-year-old from Athens, Ga., was found fatally shot March 5 on a street near campus. Demario Atwater and Lawrence Lovette Jr. are charged with first-degree murder in connection with her death."

I applaud the school for keeping Eve's memory alive. Our prayers go out to everyone who knew her.
