Every athlete has a pregame routine that’s designed to help them get mentally prepared for an upcoming game. For some, it’s as simple as touching home base before heading onto the field. For others, it’s as complex as choreographing a mock photo shoot with your teammates.

LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates fall into the latter bracket of athletes with elaborate pregame routines that are unnecessarily long and complex, yet hilarious and entertaining to watch.

I have no idea who came up with this mildly absurd idea, but it’s clear that the teammates take it very seriously, because even a blind man can tell that it’s choreographed from start to finish. The teammates’ poses and the three-picture set up with a mid-session photo check strongly suggest that, instead of spending their pregame time practicing, LeBron and company have squandered it coming up with this stylish routine. Now that is time well-spent, if I do say so myself.

Still, the first couple of times you see it you can’t help but laugh. Hopefully, the Cavaliers don’t overuse the routine… and their opponents don’t attempt their own rendition.
