Speaking of the State Fair, those of you who didn't go missed an awesome fireworks show. Sorry for the cell-phone quality video here; it hardly conveys the splendor of the fair's fireworks show.

The finale lasted at least a solid minute. At this point, the air reeked of gunpowder. The explosions were deafening. The surrounding areas were choked with smoke. Ash rained from the sky. Confused masses were blindly stumbling to their cars.

An uninformed observer would have taken it for a disaster scene.
