Today Apple will make another product announcement and followers around the world will swoon. The tech gurus are launching a revamped line of MacBook laptops at a special event on Apple’s campus in Cupertino, Califronia.
The big guy Steve Jobs will make the announcement sometime today, but avid Apple-philes don’t have to wait until then for ideas about the updates. Thanks to the internet we can discuss, speculate and obsess to our heart’s content. Engadget’s even provided a leaked photo (see above) for our viewing pleasure. Is it real? Is it a hoax? Is it the greatest laptop to ever exist… ever?
For more Apple dirt, here are just a few rumors and buzz swirling around in cyberspace:
- One model will be priced at either $899 or $999 for mass appeal
- It will be made of a solid piece of aluminum
- Two NVIDIA graphic chips will be inside
- It will feature a DisplayPort instead of Mini-DVI
- The laptops will have up to 2.8GHZ speed
- A touch screen will replace the trackpad and single button
- Longer battery-life is expected, described as “extra long”
I may not understand computers, but I know an “extra long” when I see one.
