While I don’t condone crime, it’s not exactly rocket science. Mugging someone, in particular, takes very few brain cells to plan and execute, especially if you’re attempting the old “stand inconspicuously by an ATM until someone vulnerable comes along” trick. After all, all you have to do is use the element of surprise to take the person’s money and run like an Olympic athlete who’s gunning for the world record. Done.

Yet, somehow the mugger in this clip bungles up this nigh-brainless operation so bad that he winds up lying on the floor, knocked out like a heavyweight boxer who took a right hook to the jugular in the first round of a prize fight.

Granted, the mugger got his just desserts, but he never stood a chance. The unnamed student must be some sort of tae kwon do sixth-degree black belt who spent years in the mountains of Tibet training in the timeless art of beatin’ criminals down like they owe you money. Well, it’s either that, or he got really, really lucky that the mugger was the size of a toothpick.

The cherry on top of it all, however, comes from the video’s description on Break. Apparently, in addition to having the tale of his epic robbery fail immortalized online, the would-be mugger was sentenced to ten years in prison. Talk about salt in the wound.
