You know when your phone takes on a life of its own and accidentally dials a number while it’s in your pocket? It usually ends with some embarrassment with the person on the other end of the phone hearing you sing or say something stupid. But it doesn’t usually end with an arrest.
However, when you happen to be stripping cars when this unfortunate phone incident occurs, than the consequences are more severe.
Case in point: CNN reports that three men were stealing from cars in Middletown, NY, when one of their cell phones accidentally called 911 from their pocket. You see, it’s a magical moral cell phone.
From there you can predict what happened. The 911 dispatcher heard the men discussing taking the car’s tires and he alerted the police. Police arrested the men then rejoiced over their luck.
If only every criminal called the cops mid-criminal act. Life would be good… except not for the criminals, I suppose.
