The 10 Best Procrastination Websites on the Internet

The 10 Best Procrastination Websites on the Internet

One of my old frat brothers (who is now a doctor) used to tell me that "Procrastination is a lot like masturbation...it feels good, until you realize you're only effing yourself."

While truer words may never have been spoken, that didn't stop me from putting things off. In fact, I spent my college days procrastinating like it was my job and I was looking for a promotion. So, you know, I'm highly qualified and shit. Below is a list of the best time sucking websites on the Internet that you may not be aware of:

1.) Fark. While some people get their news from CNN or MSNBC, I prefer to get mine from Fark. Why? Because the headlines are funny and the website is updated every minute. You can waste several hours on Fark without blinking an eye, all while catching up on what's happening around the world.

2.) Dlisted. Sure, you've heard of Perez Hilton, but have you ever heard of Michael K? He's foul, hilarious and will keep you up to date on the celebrity gossip you pretend not to care about. He may be gayer than a pink unicorn singing show tunes on a rainbow, but homeboy can blog his ass off.

3.) The Best of Craigslist. While the "Best Of" section of Craigslist only gets updated every month or so, it's usually a pretty good read. Plus, it'll take you around an hour to get through (which may be about as long as it takes for Maury's paternity test show to come on).

4.) ICanHasCheezburger. You know how I know that you're gay? Because you like looking at funny pictures of LOLcats. Feel free to waste time at this website, but don't let anyone you know catch you doing it.

5.) RedTube. FREE PORN! Enough said. Type in the URL yourself you perv.

6.) Fail Blog. This site gets updated a few times a day, but the sheer FAIL of everything found there is worth taking a gander every now and then.

7.) LewRockwell. Do you like to get your libertarian on? Because I know I do. This is kind of like Fark, but with an anti big government and pro civil liberty slant. Besides, you can only take so much of the Huffington Post.

8.) Geekologie. Keeping up with the cool new gadgety shit has never been easier. When you've finished reading that, head on over to Dvice and pick up what Geekologie missed out on.

9.) Bill Simmons at ESPN. Get your sports on, but with a sprinkle of pop culture. This guy will also teach you how to become a gambling guru, so you can quit all of your classes and become like Matthew McConaughey in Two for the Money.

10.) FilthyRichmond. Also known as Jocelyn's Corner, this is the absolute best blog on the Interwebz. This chick is white trash personified, and I can't get enough.  Through this blog, you can follow her adventures as a pot smoking, beer guzzling pregnant whore who likes to frequent strip clubs and seedy motels.
