The Obama Victory Speech Video: An Inspiring Reminder of Last Night

Last night, in front of half a million people in Chicago, Barack Obama gave his victory speech. After a long harrowing campaign, Obama became the 44th President of the U.S.A and the first African American president.

In his speech, Obama addressed the historic nature of this epic event. While going on tangents about an “average American” is usually trite and exasperating (hello Joe the Plumber, I’m looking at you!), Obama’s focus on a 106-year-old woman was surprisingly inspiring.

He was just the right mixture of humility and confidence. “Yes we can,” he affirmed. And “yes we did, yes we did, yes we did,” chanted the crowd.
