The Ten Best Flight of the Conchords Songs

The Ten Best Flight of the Conchords Songs

If you haven’t watched HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, you should. It’s awesomely weird, very funny and just plain entertaining. The show follows the Grammy Award-winning New Zealand duo of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement who together make up Flight of the Conchords. Ask the two comedians and they’ll describe themselves as "formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo a capella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo."

And that is why you should be watching the HBO series based on them. The best part of the show, though, is undoubtedly the songs. For just a small taste of what you can get on the show, check out the ten best Flight of the Conchords songs:

Business Time

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means… It’s business time. Learn all about the Wednesday night lovemaking complete with teeth brushing foreplay and non-foreplay related recycling.

I’m Not Crying

You may think Jemaine’s crying, but he’s not, okay? It’s just raining on his face, he’s cutting onions for lasagna, his eyes are just a little sweaty today. And if he is crying it’s only because he’s thinking of a friend who’s dying.

If You’re Into It

Bret is a classy guy who’s up for whatever you’re into it. He’ll take off all his clothes if you’re into it, and if it’s cool with you, he’ll even let you get naked too. That’s the kind of guy Bret is.

Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros

These are simply the best names for white rappers… ever.

Robots (The Humans Are Dead)

In this video, the highlight is less about the music and more about the high quality costumes.

Bowie’s in Space

Flight of the Conchords tackles some difficult questions in this song, including “Does the space cold make your nipples go pointy?” and then “Do you use your pointy nipples as telescopic antennae to trasmit data back to Earth?” All valid questions.

Mutha Uckas

Finally, an edgy song that manages to keep it PG.

Most Beautiful Girl

These are guys who really know how to pay a compliment. You see, she’s the most beautiful girl in the room and definitely top three on the street (depending on the street). They’ll even go so far as to say that she could be a part-time model.

Leggy Blonde

The lyrics are ingenius: Leggy, leggy, leggy, leggy, blondie, blondie, blondie, blondie.

Think About It

Don’t mistake Bret and Jemaine for simply superficial guys, though. They care about the bigger issues as evidenced in this song where they ask, “What is wrong with the world today?” There are all sorts of problems like kids killing each other with knives and forks and calling each other dorks.
