The Things That Can Kill You: Extreme Surfing

There are approximately 1,351,673 ways for a human being to meet a grizzly, untimely death, and surfing is definitely one of them.

For the average individual, the concept of surfing probably calls to mind four things: sunny skies, beaches, girls in bikinis and someone yelling ‘cowabunga’ while coasting along a gigantic wave.

However, such a rosy depiction only exists in Hollywood films—and beach resorts where rich people splish-splash around in the water whilst attempting to learn to surf.

In actuality, surfing is about: avoiding razor-sharp coral reefs that can kill you, bracing shark-infested waters to find the tallest waves and attempting not to drown when one inevitably wipes out. Sure, there’s plenty of notoriety and glory to be had, but the sport is by and large not for the faint of heart.

Therefore, if one can successfully navigate the torrential waters of Moher off the coast of Ireland like these brass-balled surfers somehow managed to do, YouTube fame will be theirs for the taking. Otherwise, the only thing that will is certain death.
