Trojan condoms has just kicked off its Trojan Evolve National Tour to raise awareness about sexual health in the United States. If you missed the last study by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 3.2 million young women are estimated to have one of the most common STDs. Cases of all the goodies, including: chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, are all on the rise and we have the highest rates of sexually transmitted diseases of all the Western nations. Yes, it's that serious.
David Johnson, Group Project Manager for Trojan Brand Condoms, says, "The main initiative is to open people's eyes and get them involved in the Evolve cause." The Trojan Evolve Tour plans to visit 60 college campuses in six months. The Trojan Tour Bus will have multimedia stations where students can play games and win the necessary prophylactics for all their sexual needs.
Along with the Evolve Tour, Trojan has teamed up with different concerts, a big one being the Vans Warped Tour, to bring you The Immersion Zone. The Immersion Zone is an IMAX style rollercoaster ride set up under a massive tent chock full of interactive content that is sure to take your breath away.
Trojan has even teamed up with Facebook so that students may make videos calling friends and peers to action. The students are able to load their videos onto Facebook and some videos will be chosen to be featured on the Trojan website. Make sure to be on the look out for this awesome tour bus at a college campus near you. Make a video, sign the petition for sex education, take part in the Evolve race, or speak to a trained representative about the sex (that's right I am fully aware that some of you still believe in pulling out).
"The message is to use a condom every time," says Johnson. Ultimately, this is the message that should be in the minds of all participants in sex, protect yourself and in protecting yourself you protect others. No one wants to be a number in the next CDC report.
Just in case your campus misses the Trojan Tour bus, you may hop on to www.trojancondoms.com to sign the petition or to take the Evolve pledge to use a condom every time. Over 20,ooo people have taken the pledge, you should too!
