Last night, Southern Mississippi squared off against Troy in the New Orleans Bowl, the annual post-season game played by the champions of the Sun Belt Conference and Conference USA at the Louisiana Superdome.
The big news coming out of Sunday’s game, however, wasn’t Southern Miss’s narrow, 3-point victory; it was Eagles receiver DeAndre Brown’s bone-crunching leg injury.
While attempting to complete a touchdown pass, Brown’s leg gave out from under him, leaving him with a severe fracture.
ESPN’s camera caught the entire moment—in leg-snapping slow-motion.
Hopefully, DeAndre makes a speedy recovery. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him.
