Ex-blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, and “DJ AM” Adam Goldstein were involved in a crash on takeoff in a Learjet departing South Carolina where they had just performed a free show at the University of South Carolina. Out of the six people on the plane, four are dead and Barker and Goldstein are in the hospital burn unit listed in critical condition.
The FAA reported that air traffic controllers started seeing sparks during takeoff, then the plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.
California-native Barker and Philly-born Goldstein have recently been performing together under the name TRVSDJ-AM, and most recently appeared at the VMAs on MTV.
OTR wishes all the best to them and the families of all the victims. More details to follow as they are released.
UPDATE: The victim list has been released: The four deceased are pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, CA co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, CA, Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, CA, and Charles Still, 25 of Los Angeles, CA. Chris Baker was Travis's assistant.
