We have all made fun of people on the debate team because we thought they were nerds. They could not be more glamorous.

Resolved, a documentary by Greg Whiteley is about two debate teams that take each other on in the hopes of winning the UC-Berkeley Invitational Tournament, and getting into the colleges of their dreams.

This documentary will also tackle issues of race and social class while capturing “the spread” for your enjoyment. “The spread” is a technique debaters use to spit out their arguments at 400 words a minute. Impressive!

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, hunky actor Josh Lucas, broadcaster Jane Pauley, former White House aide Karl Rove and NPR journalist Juan Williams are all featured in the film.

Resolved airs tonight at 9:00pm on HBO. Instead of watching tired old reruns, catch this documentary and prepare to be blown away.
