Forget The Dark Knight. Forget Hancock. Forget any movie you planned on seeing this summer, because there is no better movie this summer than Italian Spiderman. And you don't have to pay $10 for a ticket. Fantastico!

Although the guys who put the videos on YouTube would like you to believe these are actually Italian films from the 1960's and 70's, they're actually new parodies of Italian films from that period. Shocking I know!

According to Wikipedia, the backstory of Italian Spiderman (which btw is not real) is that these films were produced by Alrugo Entertainment, an Italian film company that made such stellar flicks as Busto Busto and Sex Cops II.

In 1968 filming of Italian Spiderman was finally finished, but Alrugo went into huge debt making the film (it cost $15 million) and was unable to distribute it. The one copy of the film was sent to New York by cargo ship, but the ship sunk on its way. Luckily, in 2006 the sunken ship was discovered and the print of Italian Spiderman was restored.

"A-shut your mouth ****cat!"

At this point they have released episodes one and two on YouTube and plan on releasing the remaining eight episodes over the course of 2008. Also, music from the film can be heard on Italian Spiderman's MySpace. Believe me, it's worth going to.
